Sagemont waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-55 win over Norland. That's two games straight that Sagemont has won by exactly nine points.
Sagemont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patrick Liburd led the charge by scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Kee, who scored 26 points along with five assists.
Norland's loss came despite strong showings from Marcus Allen and Triston Wilson. Allen dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Wilson scored 13 points along with eight assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Wilson posted eight or more assists. Kendrick Preston was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Sagemont is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Norland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
Sagemont will head out on the road to face off against Riviera Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Riviera Prep is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. Norland on the road again on Saturday and play against Windermere Prep at 1:40 p.m. on January 20th. Windermere Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
