The West Central Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Knox Redskins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Knox took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on West Central, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, West Central got the win against Faith Christian by a conclusive 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Makylah Holle made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, West Central got a massive performance out of Kyra Leman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Leman has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Lattimore, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
West Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Knox unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 7-2 to Tippecanoe Valley. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Redskins couldn't push the score so high this time.
Ava Jensen made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.
The win made it two in a row for West Central and bumps their season record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Knox, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 16-4.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. West Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Knox struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Central was able to grind out a solid win over Knox when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
