South Effingham kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 56-35 to the New Hampstead Phoenix. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-0.

Hopefully Toombs County focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for New Hampstead, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Savannah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games.
