The Ocracoke Dolphins have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Albemarle School Colts at 4:30 p.m. on December 1st.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Ocracoke had to settle for a 32-30 defeat against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Heidy Lora, who scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Dibanhi Santiago, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, Albemarle School had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 victory over Pasquotank County.
Albemarle School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madelyn Delosreyes out in front who scored 7 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. Delosreyes is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabelle Lane, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Ocracoke has yet to win a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 0-4 record. As for Albemarle School, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Ocracoke haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 0 turnovers per game. It's a different story for Albemarle School, though, as they've been averaging 17.2 per game.
