The biggest upset of the week belonged to Grand Valley, who took down 605th ranked Chalker, 39-20.
Nick Holt of Pymatuning Valley ran for the longest rushing play in Northeastern Athletic this season against Windham last week. Holt scampered for 79 yards on the play and finished with 111 on the day as his team topped the Bombers.
Pymatuning Valley's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Travis Kiser threw for 36 and 1 touchdown and Holt had 16 yards receiving. On the ground Quintin Ratliff chipped in 149 yards. Ratliff helped Pymatuning Valley's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 17 yards.
Ratliff provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Neal Croston's team defeated Windham. Ratliff's key target this week was Holt, who caught 2 passes for 16 yards.
Kiser put up the best numbers in passing as the Lakers bested the Bombers.
5-foot-10 quarterback Austin Casper of the Wildcats is the league leader in passing yards this season with 365. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Holt. The Pymatuning Valley star has 17 catches for 257 yards.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Pymatuning Valley takes on Mathews. The Lakers' offense has recorded 130 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Mustangs have permitted only 121 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pymatuning Valley takes on Mathews. As it stands, the Lakers are in third, while Mike Palumbo's team is in first.
The Mustangs scaled the state rankings by moving to 599 from 628 this week, the biggest jump in Northeastern Athletic. Grand Valley climbed the ranks as a result of besting Chalker 39-20.
