Even though Mount Juliet Christian Academy scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Donelson Christian Academy still came out on top. Donelson Christian Academy secured a 61-56 W over Mount Juliet Christian Academy.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, LEAD Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. The match between LEAD Academy and Northwest wasn't particularly close, with LEAD Academy falling 66-49. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points LEAD Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, LEAD Academy had strong showings from Brandon Fields, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds, and Anthony Petway, who scored 12 points along with five assists. The match was Petway's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Balin Gaines, who scored eight points.
Donelson Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for LEAD Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Donelson Christian Academy strolled past LEAD Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2019 by a score of 61-47. Will Donelson Christian Academy repeat their success, or does LEAD Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
