The A.L. Brown Wonders will head out on the road to face off against the Mooresville Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, everything went A.L. Brown's way against Concord as A.L. Brown made off with a 27-7 victory.
A.L. Brown relied on the efforts of CJ Gray, who threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and Mekhi Herron, who rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Mooresville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Lake Norman 34-7 on the road. Considering Mooresville has won six matchups by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mooresville can attribute much of their success to Brody Norman, who rushed for 47 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns. Mooresville also got a significant boost from Eric Heal, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
A.L. Brown's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-5. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 16.33 points. As for Mooresville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
A.L. Brown came up short against Mooresville when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 30-20. Can A.L. Brown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
