The East Panthers lost against the Health Sciences Charter Falcons back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. East had to suffer through a rough 74-40 loss at the hands of Health Sciences Charter. East has struggled against Health Sciences Charter recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
East's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jussean Pearsall, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Pearsall scored a full 35% of East's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mysean Morrison was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
East struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
East's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Health Sciences Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Emerson Vo-Tech at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Health Sciences Charter is on the road again on Friday and play against International Prep at Grover at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. International Prep at Grover comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
