The DeSoto Eagles had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Cedar Hill 59-16 at home. The win was just business as usual for DeSoto, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
DeSoto was led to victory by Darius Bailey and Deondrae Riden jr.. Bailey threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, while Riden jr. rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Riden jr. was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Pride, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
DeSoto's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.17 points. As for Cedar Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.
DeSoto will face off against Southlake Carroll at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southlake Carroll is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Cedar Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
