The Clear Creek Golddiggers will head out to face off against the Estes Park Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clear Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Clear Creek will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Arrupe Jesuit on Saturday. The Golddiggers blew past the Generals 24-5. The win continues a trend for the Golddiggers in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won five in a row.
Vinny Schoell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Schoell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Anthony Zacharias was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Joey Lupinacci also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Clear Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Estes Park and Lyons meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Lions. The win was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Drake Kearney, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Cole Ingram, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.
Clear Creek's record now sits at 5-6. As for Estes Park, their record is now 4-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clear Creek has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Estes Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clear Creek suffered a grim 10-4 defeat to Estes Park in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Golddiggers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
