The Horizon Christian Academy Warriors had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 76-62 win over St. John Bosco Academy on Friday. The win was just what Horizon Christian Academy needed coming off of a 85-64 defeat in their prior match.
Horizon Christian Academy was led to victory by Hunter Beenken and Cooper Johnson. Beenken dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Johnson scored 31 points. The contest was Johnson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Salvador, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.
Horizon Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-8. As for St. John Bosco Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Horizon Christian Academy will take on Academe of the Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Academe of the Oaks is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for St. John Bosco Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against War Hill Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m.
