Even though the Warhill Lions have not done well against the Tabb Tigers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Warhill walked away with a 57-47 win over Tabb. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Warhill.
When it comes to explaining why Tabb lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landon Powell. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with four steals. Powell hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Siegel, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Warhill's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Tabb, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warhill will take on Bruton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bruton will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Tabb, they will head out on the road to square off against Poquoson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poquoson comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
