The Harvey Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 62-54 to Glenburn. Harvey lost against Glenburn in their previous head to head on December 1st, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 48-41 score last time.
Harvey's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rachel Neumiller, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five assists. The contest was Neumiller's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Addison Faul, who scored 23 points along with six steals.
Even though they lost, Harvey were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Harvey has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Glenburn, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harvey will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bishop Ryan at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. After both having extra time off, Glenburn and Westhope/Newburg will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 5:45 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Westhope/Newburg has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28.
