The Riverside-Durham Pirates had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their match at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 29-0 victory over East Chapel Hill. The win was just what Riverside-Durham needed coming off of a 70-0 loss in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Khalil Williams, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown. Mitchell Bonner was in the mix as well, providing Riverside-Durham with two touchdowns.
Riverside-Durham's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for East Chapel Hill, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Riverside-Durham will take on Northern Durham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Northern Durham is ranked 303rd, while Riverside-Durham is ranked 290th). As for East Chapel Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
