After both having extra time off, The Christian Community Colts and the Grace Baptist Academy Golden Eagles will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two weeks ago, Christian Community faced South Haven Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Christian Community took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 58-14 victory over South Haven Christian. The win was nothing new for Christian Community as they're now sitting on six straight.
Meanwhile, Grace Baptist Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Lancaster Christian Academy 45-20. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-8.
Jacob Mock was a one-man wrecking crew for Grace Baptist Academy as he rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Thompson, who rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns.
Christian Community's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. Grace Baptist Academy has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first nine contests, giving them a 7-2 record.
Christian Community strolled past Grace Baptist Academy in their previous matchup back in August by a score of 44-27. Does Christian Community have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grace Baptist Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
