Basketball Recap: Wingate Piles Up the Points Against Tilden

Wingate won the last time they faced Tilden and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wingate Generals breezed by the Tilden Blue Devils to the tune of 60-33. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 629th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was Wingate's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Tilden, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wingate will venture away from home to face off against Uncommon at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tilden, they will head out to challenge Medgar Evers College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
