The Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles will take on the Wiggins Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dayspring Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Denver Academy. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Not much got past Owen Steward, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Denver Academy off the board. Steward has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Kai Polk

04/11/25 vs Byers | 2 |
03/21/24 @ Briggsdale | 2 |
05/08/25 vs Estes Park | 1 |
05/02/25 vs Monte Vista | 1 |
On the hitting side, Kai Polk was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wiggins, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over Limon on Tuesday.
Wiggins let Carston Johnson and Isaac Flores run wild. Johnson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Flores went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Flores has become a key player for Wiggins: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Karter Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Wiggins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Dayspring Christian Academy pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wiggins, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Dayspring Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wiggins struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Dayspring Christian Academy took their win against Wiggins in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
