The Wicksburg Panthers lost against the Long Rebels back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Wicksburg took a 31-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Long. Wicksburg has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Wicksburg saw an underclassman step up: Mason Burkhardt rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Wicksburg now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Long, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
Wicksburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Dadeville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Long, they will head out on the road to face off against Rehobeth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
