Grant Park is 0-5 against Peotone since April of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Grant Park will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Grant Park proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Momence 5-3.
Cheyenne Hayes was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adelyn Karstensen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Reegan Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Grant Park lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Peotone came up short against Reed-Custer on Tuesday and fell 4-1.
Peotone saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jillian Roark, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Grant Park's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Peotone, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
Peotone's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Grant Park hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .375. It's a different story for Peotone, though, as they've only averaged .234. Will they be able to contain Grant Park's hitters?
