The Mercy Magic scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 57-49 win over Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The victory was just what Mercy needed coming off of a 80-43 defeat in their prior matchup.
Despite the loss, Our Lady of Mount Carmel still got an impressive performance from Amya Goodsell, who scored 21 points. Jaden Washington was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Mercy pushed their record up to 4-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Mercy will be home for the holidays to greet Archbishop Spalding at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Spalding is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully St. Mary's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
