Basketball Recap: Aidan Hill Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Crestview

There's no place like home for Garfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 50-43 win over the Crestview Rebels on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-35 back in January.

Garfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Hill, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave Hill a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preston Gedeon, who posted 21 points.

Garfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Crestview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Best, who had 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Jameson English was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Garfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Crestview, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Garfield is facing Brookfield at the right time seeing as Brookfield is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Crestview, they will challenge LaBrae at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. LaBrae will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Crestview surely won't give up without a fight.
