Baseball Recap: Seward Wins Going Away Against Centennial

Seward won the last time they faced Centennial and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bluejays blew past the Broncos 12-2. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Bluejays this season.

Seward let Brycen Burt and Quin Berner run wild. Burt went 2-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and two RBI, while Berner went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Burt launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinton Hibbert, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Seward was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only posted a batting average of .118.

Seward's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Centennial, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Seward and Centennial will both be playing Lincoln Lutheran the next time they take the field. The Bluejays will head out to face the Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Broncos will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
