The Malone Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Geneva County Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st. Hopefully Malone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Malone took a serious blow against Daleville, falling 65-36. While losing is never fun, Malone can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 481st in Florida, while Daleville is ranked 240th in Alabama).
Despite their loss, Malone saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jamir Smith, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cooper Ford, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Geneva County beat Blountstown 50-46 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Geneva County.
Malone's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Geneva County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.
