The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wilbur Cross, who took down 80th ranked Wilbur Cross, 53-12.
Hand extended the longest winning streak in Southern Connecticut Division I - East this week by beating North Haven, 24-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Tigers.
The Governors' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Ricketts threw for 83 and one touchdown and D'Andre Skinner had 75 yards receiving. On the ground Stevie Swinson chipped in 66 yards. Marcus Whittle helped Wilbur Cross' passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Blake Rice and Cameron Tucker Notre Dame has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Rice leads the league in passing with 398 yards, while Tucker has rushed for 948 yards this season. Wilbur Cross' Ysaan Frazier leads the league in receiving yards with 221 on 13 catches.
The Green Knights' Tucker needs only 52 yards against Hand next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Notre Dame takes on Steve Filippone's team. As it stands, Tom Marcucci's team is in fourth, while the Tigers are in first.
The Green Knights made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,107 from 9,041. The improvement was the result of 53-12 victory over John Acquavita's team last week.
