Gerstell Academy will head out on the road to face off against the Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Gerstell Academy is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Maryland (they are ranked 47th, while Chapelgate Christian Academy is ranked 135th).
Gerstell Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Concordia Prep.
Meanwhile, Chapelgate Christian Academy waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Greater Grace Christian Academy 75-47 at home. Chapelgate Christian Academy pushed the score to 61-37 by the end of the third, a deficit Greater Grace Christian Academy had little chance of recovering from.
Chapelgate Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryson Milledge out in front who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals. Milledge is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Bishop, who scored 16 points.
Gerstell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.
Gerstell Academy beat Chapelgate Christian Academy 55-46 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gerstell Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
