After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moore Catholic, The St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings were happy to have found some success on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-7 victory over Mt. St. Michael Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as St. Joseph-by-the-Sea also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea can attribute much of their success to Thomas Digregorio, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Mt. St. Michael Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
St. Joseph-by-the-Sea will head out on the road to face off against Xavier at 7:30 p.m. on November 4th. Xavier presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Joseph-by-the-Sea in New York (Xavier is ranked 93rd, while St. Joseph-by-the-Sea is ranked 200th). Mt. St. Michael Academy will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Kennedy Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on November 11th.
