After flying high against the Miramar Patriots on Monday, the Coconut Creek Cougars came back down to earth. Coconut Creek took a hard 46-30 fall against South Plantation on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Coconut Creek in their matchups with South Plantation: they've now lost four in a row.
Coconut Creek lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Devonique Thompson, who scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Theophile, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Coconut Creek now has a losing record at 2-3. As for South Plantation, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coconut Creek will square off against Taravella at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. South Plantation won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Boyd Anderson at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Boyd Anderson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Monday.
