The Faith Christian Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They fell 69-58 to Good Samaritan HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Faith Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1425th, while Good Samaritan HomeSchool is ranked 199th).
Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Avila, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Bryan Galvan was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Faith Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Good Samaritan HomeSchool, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Faith Christian will head out on the road to face off against Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy is coming into the match with six straight wins at home, meaning Faith Christian will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Good Samaritan HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
