It was a good run, but the Cordova Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were dealt a 63-32 defeat at the hands of Hamilton. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cordova in their matchups with Hamilton: they've now lost eight in a row.
Aubrey Sorrells was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds for Hamilton. That makes it five consecutive games in which Sorrells has scored at least 25% of Hamilton's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Parker, who scored 22 points.
Cordova's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Hamilton, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Cordova will take on Curry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Curry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 324th, while Cordova is ranked 152nd). As for Hamilton, they will head out on the road to face off against Haleyville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Haleyville is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
