Avoyelles won against Marksville last Monday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Avoyelles Mustangs were the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over the Plainview Hornets. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Avoyelles' third in a row) raised their record to 8-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Plainview, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-8.

Avoyelles didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Pine Prairie on the 6th. As for Plainview, they will head out on the road to face off against Peabody at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
