After a string of five wins, the Gretna East Griffins's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 41-34 to Lincoln Southwest. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Gretna East has scored all season.
Kennadi Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lincoln Southwest, scoring 18 points along with three steals. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenly Noerrlinger, who scored six points.
Gretna East's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Lincoln Southwest, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gretna East's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Storm at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th. Lincoln Southwest will take on the Discoverers at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Silver Hawks are ranked 21st).
