The home team had come away the winner the last four times Mishicot and St. Mary Catholic had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Indians blew past the Zephyrs 14-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Kiran Sanford made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Mishicot let Cooper Brouchoud and Karsyn Krause run wild. Brouchoud went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Krause got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasey Brouchoud, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
