B District 5 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Beatrice extended the longest winning streak in B District 5 this week by beating Crete, 14-13. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Beatrice and the Cardinals played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Beatrice eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory. Dakota Vanlaningham ran for 148 yards in the win.
Bob Sexton's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zach Decker threw for 15 yards and Tanner Dewey had 15 yards receiving.
Beatrice's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Orangemen feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Decker has thrown for 685 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Dewey has 21 catches for 297 yards. Vanlaningham leads the league in rushing with 1035 yards.
Norris led B District 5 in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Seward.
