The Wasco Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Cerritos Dons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wasco comes in on three and Cerritos on seven.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wasco walked away with it. They slipped by the Broncos 42-41 on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Wasco found their leader in underclassman Noah Lopez, who rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Lopez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Michael Dominguez and his 126 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Wasco's win.
Meanwhile, Cerritos has more to be thankful for after their match against Yucca Valley on Saturday. Cerritos secured a 19-13 W over Yucca Valley.
Cerritos relied on the efforts of Dikshanta Adhikari, who picked up 67 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Justin Sagun, who threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Wasco to 8-5 and Bishop Union to 11-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Wasco has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 272.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cerritos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 188.6 per game. It's looking like Friday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.
