The Hershey Trojans will head out to face off against the Red Land Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hershey is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Hershey's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Gettysburg by a score of 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.
Maddie Bowe was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

Hershey hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Red Land and Carlisle have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Bison. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Hershey, Red Land also got a great game from a two-way player: Addie Wagenheim. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Wagenheim was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Kaylee Cekot was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Abby Snyder, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Hershey's record is now 10-6. As for Red Land, their record now sits at 12-4.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hershey has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Red Land struggles in that department as they've averaged .513. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hershey suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Red Land in their previous meeting on April 7th. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
