Mater Academy Charter extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Pembroke Pines Charter. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 12-1 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Alfrin Rosario tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Yodelkis Quevedo, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Eiker Noguera was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Mater Academy Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pembroke Pines Charter only managed one hit.

Mater Academy Charter's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13-1.

Mater Academy Charter will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jaguars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
