Hilton Head Prep unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 36-0 defeat at the hands of the Beaufort Academy Eagles on Friday. The Dolphins haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Beaufort Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nic Shuford, who threw for 184 yards and two TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards on only six carries. Devin Fripp also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.
Looking ahead, Hilton Head Prep will challenge St. Andrew's at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Beaufort Academy, they will square off against Carolina Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
