The BVCHEA HomeSchool Mustangs will face off against Texas Wind at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
BVCHEA HomeSchool is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 62-42 margin over Austin Royals HomeSchool. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Charlie Pote produced another solid performance rushing for 216 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 80 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: BVCHEA HomeSchool was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 272 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

BVCHEA HomeSchool didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Pote and Luke George. Pote has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last 22 times he's played. George got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Texas Wind got the win against Fort Bend Chargers HomeSchool on Saturday by a conclusive 62-38. Given Texas Wind's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked second, while Fort Bend Chargers HomeSchool is ranked 36th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
BVCHEA HomeSchool better keep an eye on Rhys Bonow. He was instrumental in Texas Wind's win, throwing for 297 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Zane Walker was in the mix too, providing Texas Wind with four scores.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Texas Wind, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jon Alexander, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
BVCHEA HomeSchool's record is now 10-2. As for Texas Wind, their record now sits at 13-0.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. BVCHEA HomeSchool has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 212.8 rushing yards a game.
