Baseball Recap: St. Peter's Prep Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

St. Peter's Prep waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the North Bergen Bruins as they made off with a 13-3 victory. Considering the Marauders have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Hudson Giddens looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, St. Peter's Prep got a massive performance out of Lorenzo Camilleri, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Camilleri has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Thatcher Partelow, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

St. Peter's Prep pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Bergen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

St. Peter's Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bruins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
