Wyatt Bond's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lamar over Leake Academy
Starting off the list is Lamar's Wyatt Bond, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Bond rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
If the past is any indication, Bond could be in store for another big game when he takes on East Rankin Academy on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Bond saw the Patriots), he threw for 203 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes.

The win (which was Leake Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Weaver and Leake Academy will face off against Simpson Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

If the past is any indication, Wilcox could be in store for another big game when he takes on Simpson Academy on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Wilcox saw the Cougars), he threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.
