The Pensacola Catholic Crusaders and the Bradford Tornadoes squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders had to settle for second. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to the Tornadoes. Pensacola Catholic's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nigel Nelson, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
Dae'jon ?6ixx? shanks was his usual excellent self, rushing for 101 yards, while also throwing for 85 yards and a touchdown for Bradford.
Pensacola Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Bradford, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0.
Pensacola Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bradford will face off against Cocoa at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Cocoa: 9.2, Bradford: 5) so any points scored will be well earned.
