After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brevard, Tuscola was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the East Henderson Eagles 46-0. The win continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won seven in a row.
Tuscola found their leader in sophomore Sam Trantham, who rushed for 197 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Those 197 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Trantham. Another player making a difference was Jett Bartley, who threw for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Tuscola's run defense was locked in: East Henderson could only muster 1.2 yards per carry. The Mountaineers' run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.69 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 6.53 on average over their last five games.
