Baseball Recap: High Tech NC Victorious

While High Tech NC didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras by a score of 8-5 on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Raptor have beaten the Cobras on their field since May 13, 2015.

Desmond McDonald was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. McDonald was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, High Tech NC let Cole Sakowski and Xavier Salvatore run wild. Sakowski went 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI, while Salvatore scored a run while going 2-for-3. That home run was Sakowski's first of the season.

High Tech NC kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.

High Tech NC's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Chula Vista Learning Community Charter, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Tech NC will take on Bostonia Global at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chula Vista Learning Community Charter, they will challenge Gompers Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cobras are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
