It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Noxubee County Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 49-14 victory over St. Stanislaus. Considering Noxubee County has won seven games by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kamario Taylor was his usual excellent self, rushing for 167 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 214 yards and two touchdowns. Taylor's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Dequadrion Welch was another key contributor, picking up 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Noxubee County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. St. Stanislaus' QB won't forget BJ Payton anytime soon given Payton sacked him twice.
When it comes to explaining why St. Stanislaus lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ian Gael gonz?lez rioz. Despite the final result, he rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 111 yards and a touchdown.
The win (which was Noxubee County's fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.8 points per game. As for St. Stanislaus, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Noxubee County will take on Jefferson Davis County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson Davis County is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. St. Stanislaus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
