Basketball Recap: Jaden Betts Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Benedict at Auburndale

Bolton lost to St. Benedict at Auburndale back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Bolton Wildcats were the clear victor by a 90-65 margin over the St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Bolton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Betts out in front who went 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. Those eight steals gave Betts a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of E'Darian Washington, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 25 points and three steals.

Betts wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Bolton was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Bolton pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.8 points. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Bolton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-55 victory against Craigmont on the 13th. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-38 defeat against Tipton-Rosemark Academy on the 14th.
