Softball Recap: Camas Has No Trouble Against Heritage

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Skyview, Camas was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Heritage Timberwolves 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Papermakers, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaitlin Simmons, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia Chambers, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Camas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory snapped Camas' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7 record. As for Heritage, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Coincidentally, Camas and Heritage will both be playing Battle Ground the next time they take the field. The Timberwolves will head out to face the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Papermakers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
