Ripley will take on Saltillo at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Saltillo will be up against a hot Ripley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Tigers never let Senatobia get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory on Friday.
Not much got past Korbin Smith, who gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks to keep Senatobia off the board.
On the hitting side, Ripley got a massive performance out of Hayden Kuhl, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ryan Scott, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Saltillo made easy work of Center Hill on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
CODY CARNATHAN spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit.
At the plate, MADDEN MCKISSICK was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of TUCKER PHILLIPS, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Saltillo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Ripley's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Saltillo, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
