The Akron Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Limon Badgers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Akron is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Akron will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Holyoke on Tuesday. The Rams blew past the Dragons 12-2. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Kolten Randel and Zach Bowin were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Randel pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Bowin kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Randel went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Bowin went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. With that strong performance, Randel is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Jax Kusel was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Nolan Camacho was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
Akron hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Limon posted their closest victory since May 12, 2025 on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Fowler 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Aiden Kollath made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Kollath was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooks Scherrer, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Akron's record now sits at 10-4. As for Limon, their record is now 9-3.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Akron has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Limon struggles in that department as they've averaged .443. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Akron got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Limon by a conclusive 11-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
