Speedway had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 28-20 to the South Putnam Eagles on Friday.
Despite the loss, Speedway still got an impressive performance from Jazz Coleman, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 43 receiving yards.
Leading South Putnam to victory were Ty Benton and Wyatt Mullin. Benton rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown, while Mullin rushed for 76 yards on only ten carries.
Speedway will head out on the road to square off against Owen Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Speedway focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for South Putnam, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
