Round Mountain had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it six. They came up short against the Tonopah Muckers, falling 11-2. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Muckers when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Luis Varela was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one triple.
As for Tonopah, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1. That nine-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
On Tonopah's side, Levi Harhay and Raj Chahal made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Harhay pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Meanwhile, Chahal pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Harhay went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple, while Chahal went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most RBI Harhay has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brekken Miller, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Remington Cobb, who went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Round Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against Ash Fork on the 7th. As for Tonopah, they have also already played their next game, a 15-0 defeat against Mohave Accelerated on the 7th.
